If you are tired of dealing with tire kickers and travel clients who take your information and ghost you, this article is for you.

If you want to create an easier and better way to turn a travel lead into a travel sale, this article is for you.

Let’s talk about implementing a consultation process in your travel business and put some cash in your pocket, shall we?

Nail Your Consultations Confidently

Step 1: Prepare

It is a simple concept, yet so many destination wedding and honeymoon travel specialists don’t take the time to do it and as a result, they panic when they have a lead and need to conduct a consultation.

Preparation is a key to success in business and life. It is not just a list of things to do, it is a mindset of expectation.

If you don’t take the time to prepare, it is as if you don’t believe you will ever get a destination wedding and honeymoon lead.

Since we started the 20K System & Toolkit, a premier destination wedding business course for wedding and travel pros, we have been teaching about a process that I implemented in my business that radically changed my income and the clients I was able to assist with their romance travel.

I show the entire process, step-by-step, with templates and everything, yet specialists will literally panic because the lead generation system I taught them worked and now they need to do a consultation and they don’t know what to do! 🤦🏻‍♀️

One of my go-to quotes to motivate me to put in the preparation work is from Coach John Wooden, “When opportunity comes, it’s too late to prepare”.

So, before you can be confident in conducting a consultation, you have to prepare for it with a process. This process should include things like; a few qualifying questions, an online calendar, how you’re going to meet with the couple, and a questionnaire of the things you need to know to best help your clients.

Step 2: Converse

Having a consultation is like having a conversation. If you know how to talk, you can do this!

Sometimes we get in our head about doing something new, but a consultation isn’t anything new, it is simply a new conversation with a couple you just met.

Over your lifetime, you’ve had many new conversations with people you’ve met for the first time, and you survived them, didn’t you? 😅

The main thing you need to remember is that you are leading the conversation. So, as I mentioned above, come prepared with your questionnaire. We give you one of these in our 20K System & Toolkit download section. Get it out and use it!

Step 3: Get Hired

At the end of your consultation, you can let the couple know that you’ll be sending them your list of services (we have an example of this in the 20K System & Toolkit – use it!) with your professional planning fees.

Side note: I do not follow up with the couple once I know they have received the email with my list of services and the next steps to work with me as their honeymoon or destination wedding planner.

When your couple responds and says, “Let’s do it!” – it’s time to do your happy dance and make everything official.

Now you’ll need to make sure you have a process of the next steps that your couple will need to do to work with you including sending them a contract for your services and an invoice for them to pay your professional planning fee.

Time to Nail Your Consultation!

Once those are in place, that is when I begin researching honeymoon or destination wedding locations that will be the best fit for my clients based on the consultation we had.

This is the process I use to charge $250+ for planning a honeymoon and $2,000+ for planning a destination wedding (yes, you can and should charge a professional planning fee for your travel services and it is something I show you how to do in my destination wedding travel business course).

The entire process from getting travel leads to getting hired, including templates, is in my 20K System & Toolkit destination wedding business course.

This is the process that honeymoon & destination wedding travel specialists who have gone through my program have implemented and are getting results like this:

If you aren’t part of it yet, get on the waitlist now, we will be opening enrollment soon! It’s time for you to get the results you deserve in your travel business!
