At Financial Peace University, Dave Ramsey says that “Taking care of your health is the greatest way to produce wealth in your business because your business runs through you.” You have to be healthy to create wealth and to have longevity in creating that wealth.

“Where you are today is the sum of every choice you’ve ever made. If you don’t like where you are, start making different choices!”


The truth is, LIFE HAPPENS! And some things that have happened to you were things you could control, and some things you couldn’t control. But the bottom line is, no matter what type of physical or mental condition you are in, you can start TODAY to get healthier! 

Simple Changes You Can Do

So, let’s talk about some easy ways you can quickly make some changes in both your physical & mental health.

Move More

I have always tried to eat well and be healthy, and I’ve always worked out with weights and did regular cardio a couple of times a week. But while weighing myself at the end of April, I realized that I was still overweight at 191 lbs. My body fat seemed to be close to 35%.

I love learning on YouTube, and I discovered a coach who made YouTube videos about walking as the best way to burn body fat. Tami and I started walking more, and we started losing weight. We started walking around 30–40 minutes in the morning and 30-40 minutes in the evening, and we kept losing weight. Just walking more.

We’ve all heard that as we get older our metabolism slows down, and it makes sense, as most of us gain weight as we get older. But as I learned more and more from this coach, I realized that our metabolism doesn’t slow down, it’s our activity level that slows down. I’m here to tell you at first, I didn’t believe it, but I can say after being on this new health plan for 2 months, I now weigh less than I did when I was a senior in High School. 

Track What You Eat

The health coach I follow says that most of us are eating way too much fat! I know that it is popular now, with all the Keto diets out there to eat a lot of fat, but as soon as I started cutting my fat grams down along with walking more, I started losing weight.

Invest in Your Health


Once I realized this coach knew what he was doing, I decided to join his coaching program so that I could have the help I needed to reach my health goals. This coach helped me figure out how many daily calories I needed to eat to lose weight without being hungry. His plan has worked great! I can eat all the foods I love, but I make them fit into my daily calories. It’s helped me go from weighing 191 lbs to 175 lbs in the last two months.

Invest in a health coach or a fitness program, maybe a meal prep service, or even a gym membership. Investing in your health will always pay off big dividends in your life, not just monetarily, but also in your overall self-esteem and happiness.

Bring Balance to Your Life

You’ve heard the saying, “Too much of a good thing.”

You have to have balance in your life. If you are working day in and day out without a break, you will burn out and eventually won’t be able to continue to earn wealth consistently. We ALL need balance.

In fact, there will be times that I will take advantage of a Holiday, like the 4th of July, when things are quiet, to catch up on a project or something I may be behind on, but I try to only work for a few hours, and then take the rest of the day off to enjoy the holiday with family and friends. Do your best to find time for yourself, and make time to do some things that light you up, and help bring fulfillment to your life. 

Trust God

I know that Tami and I, as Bible-believing Christians, put a high priority on trusting in God to bless our lives, our businesses, and our families. We start our day by studying scripture and asking God to bless us, our family, our businesses, and all of our friends & family. I can say that without God’s blessing and help, we would never have reached the levels of success in both our personal and business life. Studies show that people who have a strong spiritual relationship, tend to live longer and have less stress in their lives. 

Laugh More!

Life has enough seriousness on its own, do your best to laugh as much as you can. Try not to take yourself or others too seriously. Do your best to surround yourself with books, shows, and especially people who make you laugh, and that you make laugh as well. Some studies say that you can add years to your life by laughing more.
