How to Set Yourself Apart as the Go-to Destination Wedding Expert and Grow Your Leads List

As a travel business owner, the first thing I had to figure out was how I was going to get leads for my new travel agency.

Can I first be honest and say that I didn’t know what the heck I was doing? I was taking advice from the wrong people and wasting marketing dollars chasing “shiny objects” that I thought would help me. Ugh!

I had tons of information on resorts, locations, and how to book travel, but nothing on how to get leads and turn them into clients for my travel business.

Can you relate?

With all of that said, the number one thing I did to become an expert and grow my destination wedding and travel leads was create a lead magnet.

If your lead magnet topic gets couples to say, “I need that!”, “That sounds super helpful!”, “Finally, some answers!”, “This is what I’ve been looking for!” etc. Then, you have a winner.

If your lead magnet makes your couples feel like they are making progress, getting somewhere, overcoming a hurdle, having more understanding, feel more confident, then you have a winner.

Elements of Lead Magnet and Their Psychology

The cover page has your title, a relevant and updated image, and a picture of you as the author – positioning you as the expert.

Page 2 has your domino belief that you want your reader to believe and is essentially the theme. The domino belief should lead them to take the next step with you.

Page 3 is an introduction of yourself and a chance to share your experience. However, it isn’t a sales pitch of your services, but it simply reinforces you as the expert.

Page 4 is your overview page of what you’re sharing, and this gets them excited to continue reading. Essentially it tells them, “What’s in it for them.”

Pages 5 onwards are going to be your teaching points/tips that you promised to share.

After the teaching points, have a thank you page. Additionally, add some doubt in their minds that makes your reader realize they may be in over their heads if they try to DIY their destination wedding.

The next page should be a soft offer/call to action that gets them to take the next logical step, which is to consult with you.
