If you’re a wedding or travel pro and you’re looking for ideas to market your wedding business and attract customers, you’re in the right place!

I’ve been planning destination weddings for over ten years. Since 2019, I’ve also been coaching destination wedding pros to get found, get booked, and get profitable working with only 5-10 brides per year!

Getting clients for our wedding & travel business is critical to our success. So, if you’re wondering how to get leads as a travel agent or wedding professional without digging into your savings account, grab your notebook, and let’s dive in!

Leverage your online presence

Back in the day, I did what every good romance travel pro did – bridal shows! The problem with bridal shows? Local market only. Expensive. No guarantees. EXHAUSTING!

I decided to break that cycle and attract quality couples to my business (can I get an “AMEN”?) by leveraging the power of where the couples were hanging out – online!

What I discovered was that I could cast a much wider net and finally work with couples who valued my services and were willing to pay for them.

Better yet, I created a formula that allowed me to work with 5-10 wedding couples per year and make a six-figure income. (If this was a video, I would now be singing the “Hallelujah Chorus” all while a beam of light would be shining on me from Heaven 😂)

So, what is one of the best things you can do right now to leverage this wonderful world wide web? Create content! And not just any content, content that you know your ideal wedding couple wants and needs.

With that said…

  • Who is your ideal wedding couple and what is keeping them up at night?
  • Where are they stuck in their planning?
  • What is standing in the way of them getting their wedding away planned?

Answer these questions, and you’ll be their hero!

Social Media

Oh, social media, how I long for you to give me but one or two wins, then I would be forever in your debt!

I hate to break it to ya, but unless your ideal client is couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, your couples are on social media, so you must have a strategy that will get them to find you.

My number one tip for you is to go all in on one platform and perfect it. Therefore, you must first get clear on who your ideal client is.

  • If it’s professionals, go all in on LinkedIn.
  • If it’s 2nd marriages ages 40+, go all in on Facebook and Facebook Groups.
  • If you are going after the millennial crowd, get your Instagram game on.
  • If you have a knack for creating compelling video, invest your time in YouTube.

Let’s face it, we can’t be everywhere and do it well. Go all in on one platform. Be consistent. Engage with others. Answer questions. Show up live.

Decide today – which platform will you choose to focus on?

We like to call this freebie a Bride Bribe. Essentially, this is a juicy piece of info that will help your ideal wedding couple solve a problem, overcome an obstacle and/or get a quick win regarding their wedding planning.

Here’s the scoop: getting followers on social is great, but unless you have their name and email, you don’t own them. If your Facebook account is put in jail, you’re screwed.

Again, circle back to your ideal wedding couple and what their biggest challenge is. Create a bride bribe that gifts them what they need so that you can get their email.

A few tips:

  • Titles that have numbers like 3, 5 and 7 tend to be appealing because they are not overwhelming

Example: “5 Ways to Unlock your Dream Destination Wedding Location Now!”

  • Use words that will relate to your ideal couple’s vision or personality

Words like Posh, Luxurious, Lavish, Tailored, Exclusive, Modern, Stylish, Distinguished, Enchanting, Quality etc.

  • Make sure your bride bribe matches your message of who you are and what you do

Example: “3 Quick Tips to Plan your Luxury Catholic Destination Wedding in Mexico”

Then, nurture them with follow up emails that showcase your expertise in a helpful way.
